Hughes Crew during training.

Co-pilot Evans became pilot of the crew after Hughes was made a lead crew pilot, with his co-pilot duties assumed by Kohlhaas.

Four members of that crew, John Bellovary, Milton Erich, Hugh Evans, and Thomas Kohlhaas, were murdered after being shot down during a mission on 30 November 1944.
