Thomas Hartwig became the 148th Veteran of the 384th Bomb Group to sign the wing panel on 1 November 2017 in Mayville, Wisconsin.
Hartwig was a B-17 tail gunner on the Richard S Humphries Crew assigned to the 546th Bomb Squadron in April 1945. Even though he arrived late in the war, he still managed to fly a few combat missions, including the final one on 25 April 1945.
