Sergeant Frederick Scott Bumpers was assigned to the 544th Bomb Squadron as a gunner without crew affiliation on 8 July 1943. He flew 15 missions as a gunner with various crews until 7 February when he was transferred to the 15th Air Force (Italy), 301st Bomb Group, 353rd Bomb Squadron. He was shot down and became a POW on 25 February 1944, Missing Air Crew Report, MACR 2722.

James Harrison was assigned to the 544th Bomb Squadron in January 1943 as a ground crewman with MOS 747, airplane Engine Mechanic. He apparently volunteered for flight duty and was reclassified to MOS 748, Engineer/Top Turret Gunner in November 1943. He flew 35 missions with various crews, finishing his final mission on 26 March 1945 and returning to the USA on 11 April 1945.

William Paul Horan was assigned to the 544th Bomb Squadron without crew affiliation in August 1944. He was shot down and Killed in Action on 27 December while flying with the Elmer Nelson Crew.

Frederick W. Plummer was assigned to the 544th Bomb Squadron in January 1943 (MOS unknown). He was sent to Gunnery School in August 1943 and began flying combat missions in September 1943. His MOS was changed from MOS 555 (Sheet Metal Worker) to MOS 611, (Gunner) in January 1944. He competed 19 combat missions, 16 of the missions were flown with the Donald S Morrison Crew.
