Marquardt joined the 384th on 17 October 1943. He was the Bombardier of the Roger C Smith Crew. He completed 27 missions, most of which were as a member of a lead crew (which signifies exceptional skill at his duties). He flew his last mission on 7 October 1944, and departed Grafton Underwood 10 days later.

Anthony Christopher Salta was one of the original cadre in the 546th Bomb Squadron. He was assigned to the squadron with the rank of Staff Sergeant in December 1942 and was appointed First Sergeant of the squadron in March 1943. This is the only example we have on an A2 jacket that was worn by a non-flying squadron member.
